Bio/Statement
Christina takes delight in the healing power of art, and she maintains that art can heal the soul and enliven the heart. Her desire is for her paintings to embody consciousness to uplift the viewer. Indeed, that aspect of consciousness can be discerned through the beautiful quality of light represented in both her realistic and abstract works.
That Nature inspires Christina’s work is clearly evident in the rich colors of her landscape paintings, and the natural world is also more quietly reflected in her abstract works. A traveler, Christina frequently uses photographs from her travels as inspiration, and she loves painting cows to roam about her canvas “acreage” as they graze.
Christina studied acrylic painting for three decades with the late master colorist, Doris Haskel. Other artists who have served as inspiration for her work include: Pat Dews for abstract work, Wendy Daniels and Firouzeh Sadeghi for watercolor, and Monica Pittman, Holly Buehler, and Walt Bartman for color and composition.
Christina is a member of Haskel’s Palette, Montgomery Art Association, Maryland Federation of Art, and the Rockville Art League.
Following a successful career in office administration, Christina continues to more devotedly follow her passion for creating art. Her interest extends to the healing arts, as well; she is a licensed Massage and CranioSacral practitioner in Maryland.
